Duo Savoy

A vocal and keyboard duo based in the NorthEast of England. Paul and Keith met up whilst doing a series of Ratpack shows in 2009 around County Durham and Yorkshire and decided to continue as a duo performing songs from the 50's and 60's.

Keith's easy vocal style suited particularly the songs of Nat King Cole and from it was developed a tribute to the great man himself. That, combined with songs from the same period, contributes to the sound of Duo Savoy.

The professional sound of the duo is complemented by Paul's piano playing along with rhythm and bass pedals. See the gallery for a photo of his setup. A unique sound from only two people - no backing tracks! Minimum space required, quick setup.

A quick glance at Keith's musical activity!

Keith was recently ask to attend the recording of Cruising with The Stars on Sky channel 284. Here he is with Debi Jones.

This picture was taken two years after The Golden Years started performing in 1980. It was placed at the front of The Entertainment Book, a catalogue for the clubs to book artists from. Members of The Golden Years, left to right: Eddy Adamthwaite, Dave Strange, Keith Abbott, Dave Smith and Chris Cowen.

The Golden Years - a great bunch of lads and fab musicians. Keith owes much to these lads -without them he would probably have never sung and entertained on a stage - thanks lads! Left to right: Chris Cowen, Eddy Adamthwaite, Mike Albury, Dave Smith, Keith Abbott.

Soul Corporation July 2006 . Keith loved performing with these lads. They covered Motown and soul music, had great harmonies and fantastic stage presence. This picture was taken at The Gibside Hotel, Whickham. Left to right: Steve Lee, Hilton Archer, Keith Abbott.

John Parrot. This was taken at St.Jame's Park, Newcastle football ground. A charity ball where Keith performed along side John Parrot, one of the best in snooker. A big guy with a big personality!

Brendan Healy, about 2007. Taken just before Keith was to perform at The St.James' Football ground, not yet in his suit ! He had the privilege of working with top north east comedian Brendan Healey, a laugh a minute and mad as a hatter. Brendan is also a great muscian, actor and performs regularly in the north east region.
